Getting to Le Relais des Hautes Gorges
From Québec City or Montréal Take Highway 138 East toward Baie-Saint-Paul. From Baie-Saint-Paul, you have two options:
The quick route through the mountains (about 35 minutes from Baie-Saint-Paul) Stay on Highway 138 East toward Saint-Hilarion / Clermont.
Important: do not follow Google Maps if it tells you to turn left onto chemin Cartier in Saint-Hilarion. → That road becomes unpaved and is not recommended. → Stay straight on Highway 138 all the way to Clermont.
Then take Route 381 North to Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs.
The scenic route via La Malbaie (longer, but with stunning views of the St. Lawrence River) From Baie-Saint-Paul, follow Route 362 East toward La Malbaie (through the villages of Saint-Irénée, Les Éboulements…). In La Malbaie, connect to Highway 138, then take Route 381 North to Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs. Once in the village, continue along rue Principale. Le Relais is at 330 rue Principale, on your right just past the Voisin convenience store, right before the entrance to the national park.
From La Malbaie Take Route 381 North toward Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs. Follow rue Principale to number 330. Ample parking on site. Well-signed and easy to access year-round.
